Some will think it a bit weird to have a Hearse. So I'm a bit weird. But once you get over the "Dead" syndrome, they are great fun to have. Once more I consulted Hemmings and, in a few months, found a 1974 Cadillac previously used by a funeral home in Oklahoma. For a very reasonable price we had it shipped to Florida. It was in very good shape although it did smell a bit of formaldehyde. There were even copies of a dozen or so funeral services in the glove box! Maybe that explains why the used market is so reasonable.
Then the whole thing got out of control, we painted the body had the bumpers rechromed, recovered the upholstery and an equally weird friend even gave me a casket for my birthday. Some pinstriping, some purple fluorescent lights inside and underneath and we were ready to do the rounds on Halloween. We also use "Lurch" to pick people up at the airport. It's Hilarious ... If you're a bit weird. But I'm not alone, we joined the "Professional Car Society" which is an international association devoted to Hearses, Ambulances and the like.
