This vehicle is more that 75 years old. Some restoration and customizing was done in 2003, but 99% of "Jethro" is original. Although it had not run for about 25 years, the only items that had to be replaced were:
6 spark plugs and wires
1 fan belt
4 tires
Fuel tank and fuel lines
Battery and wiring
Water hoses
Distributor
1 running board
The engine, cooling system and transmission were drained, flushed and refilled. None of these were stripped or taken apart. They are all original and all of them worked perfectly with a little T.L.C. The wheel bearings and suspension are all original - only the grease has been changed. The clutch, brake shoes, water pump, even the klaxon horn and some of the light bulbs all worked after some attention.
Then we decided to have some fun, so we adopted the Beverley Hillbillies theme, restored the left front quarter (just to show what could be done) and "customized" with a front bumper, headers, upholstery and rear lights. Hope you enjoy the results so far ... we're having a ball with it!
