Godzilla, as you know, was the legendary Japanese King of the Monsters.
When the American automobile press tested the 2009 Nissan GTR they dubbed it “Godzilla” as it was an extension of the legendary Skyline model, it was Japanese and it certainly qualified as King of the Monsters.
Naturally, we had to have one, but they had not yet arrived on U.S. shores and were going to be a limited production run for the USA.
We had the same sort of problem with getting an Audi R8, so we again called Doug Tabbutt @ Switchcars.com. This guy is very “connected.” In a very short time he found a production slot from a Nissan dealer in Lake Manawa, Iowa (go figure) and we were able to order exactly what I wanted. Then came the hard part……. I had to be patient and wait for Nissan to make the car. Luckily I am known for my patience and consideration (NOT!) but eventually it got to Iowa and was then shipped to Florida.
Currently we have only 125 miles on the car but it is everything that the press said it would be. It’s a Monster!
