This example of the 1967 Mustang was built in San Jose, California. Originally owned by a service-man, while he was in Vietnam the car was stolen in 1968 (6 months old) and abandoned in Tennessee. A friend had a connection with the insurance adjuster, purchased the vehicle and moved it to Atlanta, GA. and treasured it for the next 32 years. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2000 and the car sat in his wife's garage for several years until she had a garage sale in 2004. The car was in fantastic condition, zero rust, all body and floor panels are completely original, 77,000 miles, original engine and transmission. One of the early cars in California to have a smog pump. She had the original owners guide, operation manual and owners card plate. We just couldn't resist it! The paint needed cosmetic attention so we went all the way, stripped it down to bare metal and Realistic Auto Restorations of St. Petersburg completely repainted in signal flare red (a factory 1966 color). National Parts Depot in Ocala supplied rocker panel moldings, a reproduction dashboard and some trim pieces, we opted for Magnum 500 wheels, restored and detailed everything else... AND HERE IT IS!
