Collectible Cars

The four door Lincoln Convertibles were produced from 1960 thru 1967. As such they were the last of the American Convertibles in that era. The 1964 models were a "Model Change" year when Lincoln added three inches to the wheelbase, A 430 cubic inch engine and improved pumps and relays to the convertible top. They are considered as "Sleepers" in the collector car market. Their popularity has steadily increased over the past 10 years as several specialty companies appeared to provide spare parts and people became less afraid of the reputed difficulty with the complicated power top mechanism.

Never the less, they were fine examples of the top of the line luxury cars. They were a dream to drive, especially on the open road. Smooth, powerful and loaded with accessories. The gas mileage was terrible.

When we wanted to add one to the collection we turned to Hemmings Motor News and found "Abe" in Pennsylvania. One owner, 64,000 miles and in fairly good original condition.
